The truth and the roots of Tariq Ramadan

Why we shouldn’t believe the false accusations transmitted intentionally and deliberately against Tariq Ramadan?
Why we shouldn’t believe this smear campaign against Tariq Ramadan?

It’s because Tariq Ramadan has noble family roots founded in a history of leadership, knowledge and Islamic values which testify and prove that he is beyond reproach and above such accusations.

Tariq Ramadan is the seed of the noble and highly respectable Al Banna family and this family is the sole founder of Islamic grassroots activism embodied in the foundation and establishment of the Muslim Brotherhood worldwide.

Highly qualified Islamic scholars and their students who grew up in “shaheed” Hassan Al Banna’s Islamic institutions are till the present day contributing to Islam in the social, political, economic, educational and scientific fields all over the world.

Tariq Ramadan is the noble heir and “dawah” of Hassan Al Banna and his illustrious family.

In 1938 when his grandfather Hassan Al Banna was murdered the bells of the churches of the capital of Christendom were pealing from happiness on his passing.

Imagine nowadays, with globalization, with the widespread use of technology and the influence of the mass media, will the enemies and anti-Islam lobbyists leave the grandson of Hassan Al Banna in peace? Will they allow Tarek Ramadan to carry on contributing to global Islam in three important international languages in the heart of Western society?

Logically, will they allow this to carry on without any consequences. The nobility of Tarek Ramadan’s character and family is on the same level as that of Omar ibn Abd el Aziz (Glad Tidings to Him) the Fifth Caliph and the grandson of Omar Ibn el Khattab (Glad Tidings to Him).
Omar ibn Abd el Aziz (GTTH) was the noble heir and “dawah” of the Companion Omar Ibn el Khattab (GTTH).

Ameer Al-Mu’mineen Omar Ibn Al Khattab (GTTH) was walking in the streets of Al-Madina with the grandfather of Zaid bin Aslam (GTTH) and Allah The Almighty planned that on this occasion an event would occur that would have consequences that could not be foreseen at that time. Omar Ibn Al Khattab (GTTH) overheard a conversation between a mother and her daughter, earlier the girl had collected milk to be sold but the milk was not enough so the mother told her daughter to mix water with the milk to increase it. The daughter objected and told her how the Caliph Omar Ibn Al Khattab (GTTH) had forbidden mixing of milk with water to be sold in the markets, but the mother replied that Omar Ibn Al Hattab (GTTH) was not present and that nobody would know.
The girl answered that although Omar Ibn Al Hattab (GTTH) was not present Allah was watching and said , “I cannot obey Allah in public and disobey Him in private”.

On hearing this he decided to marry her to one of his sons. His son Aasim and his wife had a daughter who was then married to Abdul-Aziz the son of Caliph Marwan and from them came Omar Ibn Abdul Aziz (GTTH). At a young age he memorized the Quran and was educated by the foremost scholars from the Islamic Ummah and from the great generation that followed the Sahaabah (May Allah Be Pleased With Them).
When his father passed away the Ummayyad Caliph Abdul-Maalik called him to Damascus and he was married to the Caliph’s daughter Faatimah bint Abdil Maalik.

The great Scholar Sufyan Ath-Thawri said that the Khulafaa numbered five: Abu Bakr, Omar, Othman, Ali and Omar Ibn Abdul Aziz (Glad Tidings to Them).

This is a title that none has shared, to be placed side by side with the Khulafaa Ar-Raashidoon and the greatest of the Sahaabah (GTTT).
There have been many Khulafaa and many achieved great things such as Haroon Ar-Rasheed, Al-Mu’tasim Billah and Muhammad Al-Faatih amongst others.

Imam Ahmad said that Omar Ibn Abdul Aziz (GTTH) was the Mujaddad of the century who came to revive the Deen and he is the only one throughout the course of Islamic history to whom this title has been universally accepted.
He was used to a lavish lifestyle as lived by the Ummayah household, however his appointment had a radical affect upon him and the weight that he felt upon his shoulders made him change into something that would be spoken about for over a thousand years.

Al-Laith narrated: “When he became Khaleefah he started with himself and family and then the people of his household and he took from them their possessions and counted their wealth as Mazhaalim (acts of injustices that needed to be restored). He moved out of the palace and built a small house with two rooms. He freed his slaves and returned any wealth and property that he had attained due to privileges to the Bait Al-Maal. He approached his wife Faatimah who had jewellery that was given to her by her father which no one had seen the like of and he said to her: ‘Either you return this to the Bait ul Maal or you permit me to separate from you because I cannot stand for you and me to be in the same house (whilst you have it).’ He also explained to her that they would have no luxuries in their life and that they would live the simplest of lives and he gave her the choice to return back to the palace and continue living in luxury or remain with him with only Allah the Almighty and His Messenger.

This daughter of a Khaleefah and sister to two former Khaleefahs responded to his call, returned the jewels and accepted Allah the Almighty and His Messenger and she remained loyal to this throughout his Khilafah and after his death, may Allah’s mercy be upon her”.

Can a believing man or woman imagine that the Fifth Caliph Omar Ibn Abd el Aziz (GTTH) would commit such crimes?

For people that have clear and noble values Tariq Ramadan is no less than Omar Ibn Abd el Aziz (GTTH). This ordeal is similar to many other ordeals that many scholars have fallen victim to throughout the history of Islam, thus what we and Tariq Ramadan have to do is to have patience until Allah the Almighty reveals the truth.

The Holy Quran, Surah An-Nur (24:11-19) “Indeed, those who came with falsehood are a group among you. Do not think it bad for you; rather it is good for you. For every person among them is what [punishment] he has earned from the sin, and he who took upon himself the greater portion thereof – for him is a great punishment. Why, when you heard it, did not the believing men and believing women think good of one another and say, “This is an obvious falsehood”? Why did they [who slandered] not produce for it four witnesses? And when they do not produce the witnesses, then it is they, in the sight of Allah, who are the liars. And if it had not been for the favour of Allah upon you and His mercy in this world and the Hereafter, you would have been touched for that [lie] in which you were involved by a great punishment. When you received it with your tongues and said with your mouths that of which you had no knowledge and thought it was insignificant while it was, in the sight of Allah, tremendous.

And why, when you heard it, did you not say, “It is not for us to speak of this. Exalted are You, [O Allah ]; this is a great slander”? Allah warns you against returning to the likes of this [conduct], ever, if you should be believers. And Allah makes clear to you the verses, and Allah is Knowing and Wise.

Indeed, those who like that immorality should be spread [or publicized] among those who have believed will have a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter.

And Allah knows and you do not know.”
