As the cold weather creeps in, the autumn season of events begins with Halloween and then, of course, Bonfire Night. Whether you'll be buying your own fireworks for a back garden display or visiting one of the many events on offer this year, there is plenty of choice for Guy Fawkes Night..
Throughout the first weekend of November, venues across Cardiff and the surrounding areas will be bringing colourful displays to the skies of the Welsh capital. Here we take a look at some of the biggest events.

Lo Lounge Cardiff Bay, Fireworks Night
Lo Lounge is a sunset terrace cocktail bar overlooking the beautiful waters of Cardiff Bay. Over the weekend the venue will have a firework display, a fire show, music and board games. Street food will also be available from vendors, Hench Burger and Wingstack.
The event will be taking place each evening across the weekend from Friday, November 3 to Sunday, November 5. Doors open at 6pm and the fire show and display will start at 8.30pm. Vale Resort, Fireworks Display
The Vale Resort, just outside Cardiff in Hensol, is putting on a dazzling firework display for Bonfire Night. The event on Sunday, November 5 will see fireworks lighting up the skies around the Vale of Glamorgan, with available refreshments.
Taking place on Bonfire Night, the event will start at 5.50pm with the display set to begin at 7pm. Tickets are now on sale starting from £6 for children aged 12 and under, £12 for adults and family tickets (two adults and two children) at £30. For more information and to book tickets visit here.
Llantrisant & Pontyclun Golf Club, Fireworks Extravaganza
Kick off your weekend of fireworks at the Fireworks Extravaganza at Llantrisant & Pontyclun Golf Club, Talbot Green. The event presented by the Junior Section is bringing music, food and fireworks to Cardiff, with sweet stalls, games stalls, street food and drinks, and a glow stick stall. The event will take place on Friday, November 3, with doors opening at 6pm and the fireworks display starting at 7.30pm. Llantrisant Male Voice Choir will also be performing at 6.45pm before the fireworks begin. Tickets are currently sold out for the event but keep an eye out here in case of refunds.
Holm House, Bonfire Night
Holm House in Penarth is celebrating Bonfire night with a firework display and further entertainment at luxury hotel, restaurant and spa. The event on Sunday, November 5 from 6 pm includes:
Drink on arrival
Beef Burger, Hot Dog & Nachos
Confectionery
Live Entertainment
Firework Display at 7.30pm
Followed by Silent Disco at 8pm

Sophia Gardens, Sophiaworks
The biggest fireworks night celebrations are returning this year in the heart of the capital city. Glamorgan Cricket are bringing their 'musical fireworks spectacular' to Sophia Gardens for the third year. The event includes live music and family entertainment with funfair rides, street food and a fireworks display, perfect for the whole family.
Each year the Sophiaworks has sold out so get in quick to secure your place. On Saturday, November 4, gates will open at 5.30 with the display starting at 7.15pm. Tickets start at £15 for under 17-year-olds and £14 for adults and can be booked here.
Whitchurch Golf Club, Fireworks Night
The popular Cardiff golf club firework display is returning for another year this November. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased at the clubhouse/bar between the hours of 11 am and 7pm. The event takes place on Sunday, November 5 from 6.30pm with the display set to take place at 7.30pm. Child tickets are £6 each, adult tickets are £9 and family tickets of two children and two adults are also available for £24.
