Britney Spears has uploaded a cryptic social media post shortly after her sister was confirmed as one of the campmates for ITV's next series of I'm A Celebrity. Actress and singer Jamie Lynn Spears, 32, is one of 10 celebrities going into the jungle this year.

She is set to appear on the show alongside Nigel Farage, Grace Dent, Sam Thompson, Josie Gibson and Marvin Humes. Also heading Down Under is Fred Siriex, Danielle Harold, Nick Pickard and Nella Rose.

After the official line-up for 2023 I'm A Celeb was announced, Britney posted a quote from Ernest Hemingway on Instagram. "All things truly wicked start from innocence," she shared, and captioned it with a pink flower emoji.

Hemingway's quote in full reads: "All things truly wicked start from an innocence. The sun also rises. Man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated." The American novelist was famous for his short story writing.

The cryptic message has left fans speculating what it could mean, with some suggesting it is aimed at her younger sister. According to the Mirror, one follower replied: "Your sister for example!! She’s about to go in the Jungle and us Brits are RUTHLESS.. we’ve got your back hun."

Another posted: "Hi Brittany I hope you enjoy Jamie Lynn suffering on I’m A Celeb I’ll definitely be putting my votes on her to do EVERY bush tucker trail." Comments on the post have now been turned off.

However, the quote could mean something else entirely, perhaps even a reference to the musical Wicked, with a new version of the film coming out next year starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

Over the years, it's been heavily reported that Britney and Jamie Lynn have had a strained relationship ever since the 'Gimme More' singer's 13-year conservatorship ended in 2021. The conservatorship gave their father Jamie total control over Britney's assets.

At the time of the court case in 2021, the two sisters reportedly feuded when Britney publicly accused Jamie Lynn of being involved in the conservatorship. Jamie Lynn denied this and said she had no idea what Britney was going through.

Last year, Jamie Lynn published a memoir in which she detailed her difficult childhood growing up in Britney's shadow. At the time, Britney is believed to have considered legal action.

In her newly published memoir The Woman in Me, Britney suggested that her relationship with her sister was still difficult. She branded Jamie Lynn a "total b****" and claimed 'she did not help her enough.'

In the book, Britney alleged that she'd reached out to Jamie Lynn for help after she was placed into a rehab centre for months against her will. She says that her younger sister told her to "stop fighting it."

Writing in her memoir, Britney addressed the conservatorship being suspended in November 2021: "I was left with so many emotions: shock, relief, elation, sadness, joy. I felt betrayed by my father, and sadly, by the rest of my family, too. My sister and I should have found comfort in each other, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case."

"As I was fighting the conservatorship and receiving a lot of press attention, she was writing a book capitalizing on it. She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of them hurtful and outrageous." However, she went on to reveal her hopes for a new relationship with her sister.

"She will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family. I’m working to feel more compassion than anger toward her, and everyone who I feel has wronged me."

Meanwhile, Jamie Lynn shared her motivation for signing up to the reality series. She said: “There is literally every misconception you can have on a person about me, so I don’t take any of it seriously.
