TV personality Calum Best has been spotted catching up with pal Wayne Lineker and Wayne's son, Freddie, at a restaurant in Wales. Calum, 42, is a former model who has appeared on a string of reality TV programmes but is perhaps best known for being the only child of footballer George Best.
Wayne Lineker is also known for appearing on reality TV, including the 2021 series of Celebs Go Dating, and for being footballer Gary Lineker's brother. Whilst Calum is used to the glamour and fast-paced life of Los Angeles, and Wayne, 61, and his son Freddie, 19, split their time between party paradise Ibiza and their plush home in London, the trio were pictured having food and a catch-up somewhere completely unexpected: the private dining room of a restaurant in Neath town centre.
The Welsh House opened its third restaurant-bar in Neath in June this year and says it celebrates all things Welsh, with locally-sourced produce on the menu and local drinks stocked at the bar. The brand first launched in Cardiff city centre in February and then opened its second venue in Swansea in May, in the former Marco Pierre White Steakhouse unit at the J-Shed at SA1. The team at the Neath venue say they were delighted to host the trio in their private dining mezzanine on Saturday and gave them "the full Welsh experience", including Katherine Jenkins' new gin 'Cygnet'.
A spokesperson for The Welsh House said: "The Welsh House in Neath hosted well-known celebrity Wayne Lineker, his son, Freddie Lineker, and friend Calum Best, son of footballing legend George Best, in their private dining mezzanine Saturday night. It was a great opportunity for them to showcase authentic Welsh cuisine to someone who is well known in the hospitality industry. The venue is decorated with historical Welsh images and Welsh words and the team gave them the full Welsh experience.
"Wayne, Freddie, Calum and friends were seen enjoying Welsh superstar Katherine Jenkin’s Cygnet Gin. Wayne posted later that evening on his Instagram saying 'I might actually move to Neath ya know'!"
