A driver and passenger avoided serious injuries after a crash which saw a car flip over and land on its roof in the middle of a residential street. The collision happened on New Road in Llanelli shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon.

Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene of the crash, which involved one car and two other vehicles. The driver and the passenger inside the car were injured but did not need to be cut free by firefighters. They were treated at the scene and one was later taken to hospital by ambulance. According to police, they only sustained minor injuries. The road was closed while emergency services attended to the casualties and arranged recovery of the vehicle.

A spokesman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 4.35pm on Thursday (November 2), the Llanelli crew was called to an incident along New Road, Llanelli. Crew members responded to a road traffic collision involving three private motor vehicles, on arrival, two of the vehicles were stationary and one was overturned and on its roof. The incident involved two casualties but neither one required to be extricated from vehicles by crew members. Crew members were involved in vehicle and scene safety, as well as providing casualty care."

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called yesterday at approximately 4.34pm, to reports of a road traffic collision on New Road in Llanelli. We sent one rapid response vehicle and one emergency ambulance to the scene. We conveyed one patient to Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen for further treatment."
