A new "sauna escape" is offering a quite unique way to relax and unwind within the glorious setting of Gower's coastline. Caswell Saunas opened earlier this month on one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in Wales. It will be there seven days a week from 7am-9pm and offers the perfect escape from the busy everyday.

For brave cold-water swimmers or dippers, Caswell Saunas also offers showering facilities so you can wash off the sand before you wind down and warm up in the sauna. There are also three cold plunge barrels for those wanting to experience the invigorating benefits of cold water plunging.

Owner of Caswell Saunas, Ataur Rahman, said the sauna had been popular ever since it opened as people flock to enjoy the oasis of calm in the Welsh beauty spot. "The idea came because we've got a holiday let right near where the sauna is now," said Ataur. "It's got a view of the beach so we ended up buying a sauna and we thought it would be good to have other features. We have three cold plunges and showers too." The sauna sessions cater to anyone over the age of 13, but under 16's must be accompanied by an adult. "You can have a romantic time with your partner, or come with your fitness group. We cater for everyone," said Ataur. Reported health benefits of saunas include improved circulation, lowered blood pressure, stress relief, glowy skin, reduced joint stiffness and muscle soreness and a boost to your immune system and mood.

Private sauna sessions cost £80 for 55 minutes for up to eight people. Communal sessions are on offer at allocated times throughout the day (8am, 10am and 4pm) and cost £15 per person. You will share the sauna with up to eight people. The nearest parking for those visiting the sauna is at the public car park on Caswell Bay (SA3 3BS.)

According to the Caswell Saunas website, there are eight boxes located next to the sauna where you can leave your belongings but these will be left at your own risk. Items you will need to bring with you include swimwear, two towels, a water bottle and flip-flops.
