Santa is on his way to west Wales once more and so too is a festive drive-in cinema that will show a host of movie favourites this Christmas. Street Food Cinema held sold-out events in Cardiff in 2020 and 2021, and then last year set up camp at the Nantyci Showground on the outskirts of Carmarthen.

The event was a huge success and attracted families from far and wide to watch two Christmas classics - Home Alone and Elf - over four days. This year, Street Food Cinema is bringing the film extravaganza back but with more films and more screenings. As well as the movies on offer, people can expect a flurry of Christmas extras to get them in the festive mood, including lights, snow, and food delivered straight to your window as you sit back and relax in your own car.

You’ll be able to order an array of different street food on your phone, including cinema popcorn, retro sweet boxes and ice cream from BOBO, wood fired pizzas and fries from Barebones Pizza, fried chicken from Bone Cartel, hot dogs from Big Apple Hot Dogs, and festive churros and chocolate from Church of Churros. A spokesperson for Street Food Cinema said: “The immersive Street Food Cinema returns to Carmarthen Showground transforming it into a festive cinematic wonderland. Join us for a magical theatrical screening of classic Christmas movies and festive fun for all the family. Our team of elves are busy sprinkling a touch of North Pole magic into everything to make sure this is a fabulous Christmas experience that will put a smile on everyone’s faces, big or small.

“This is our re-invention of the all-American 50s Drive-In tradition remixed for the 21st century. Forget what you think you know about a Drive-In, this is way more than just a film. Not forgetting the best street food trucks in the business serving delicious Americana food direct to your car, served by our band of merry North Pole elves and a guy with a red hat and a big beard.”
