Transport here in Wales is constantly evolving with new roads being laid and railway lines being closed, and this long-since abandoned tunnel is a lasting relic of its long history.

The 640m long Cefn Glas tunnel was previously used to link Abercynon with the Quakers Yard High-Level station. With much of the masonry work still intact, there have been some noticeable debris and fallen areas which make this tunnel very dangerous. The Abercynon end of the tunnel appears to be in better shape compared to the Quakers Yard entrance.

Many of these photographs were taken at various times between 2009 and 2016, and what is there today may look rather different from how it looked back when these were captured.
