Thirty-two Welsh football fans who have travelled to Armenia to watch the team have been arrested by police in Armenia. The arrests have been confirmed by the Football Association of Wales (FAW).
Robert Page's men were due to face Armenia in the capital Yerevan on Saturday afternoon UK time but a number of fans were taken into police custody ahead of the clash, which ended 1-1. A spokesman from the FAW confirmed they are in "constant communication" with those affected.
They said: "We are in constant communication with the fans. The embassy and FSA Cymru are acting as liaisons for fans and have contact with the local authority. Members of South Wales Police are here and they're liaison with fans. We're aware of the situation and a British Foreign Commonwealth officer is also involved."

Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, fan Gerallt Dafydd said: "Still at the police station (almost 9am) with eight friends and several other innocent Welsh fans. Police brutally tackled us to the floor whilst waiting for a taxi and have held us at the station for over seven hours with no water. A horrific, traumatic experience."
Gareth Thomas said: "I can absolutely confirm some of the guys I seen get arrested were just walking down the street! Eight police jumped into ground and dragged them out! Threw one guy to the floor." Danial Williams said: "Questions need answering, lads got absolutely battered for no reason."
Superintendent Steve Rees, from South Wales Police, who is head of UK policing delegation in Armenia, said: “We are aware of an incident during the early hours of Saturday in Yeravan which resulted in 32 Welsh fans being arrested. We are working with the fan embassy and local law enforcement to find out exactly what has happened. Welsh fans have a good reputation when travelling abroad so this is very much out of the ordinary. “A delegation of Welsh police officers will continue to visible to the travelling fans during this away fixture providing advice and helping to keep them safe.” A Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office spokesman said: “We are supporting the families of a number of Welsh football fans in Armenia and are in contact with the local authorities."
