Gethin Jones has described how he is “opening a new chapter” as he attended the opening of Clogau Gold’s new Merthyr Tydfil store. The 45-year-old Morning Live presenter shared a series of photos of himself at the event - the first of which saw him standing next to a book with the year 1989 open on it.
Gethin captioned the post: “Decided to open the book on the year of my birth. A successful and busy opening of @clogaugold in Merthyr Tydfil. Opening a new chapter!
“Awesome to catch up with the Golden duo @gemmafrizelle & @aleddavies2012. Oh, and my on-screen daughter finally gave in to the photo.” Upon posting the photos several people commented to congratulate Gethin on his role in the venture and his ‘on-screen’ family.

“You have a lovely on screen family Gethin Jones,” one person said. A second added: “Looks amazing.”
Others picked up on the fact that Gethin had been rather untruthful about his age as he was in fact born in 1978. Someone wrote: “Year of your birth? Hmmmm.”
Another commented: “No way you were born in 89.” And a further person joked: “Your parents may have lied to you about your DOB.”
Gethin is the face of Clogau’s men's jewellery. On the Clogau website Ben Roberts, managing director of Clogau, says of the presenter’s partnership with the brand: "We are delighted to be working with Gethin. He really understands the brand and what we're trying to do. We've always wanted to work together and thankfully the plan for the coming years works perfectly for both parties."
Earlier this week on BBC’s Morning Live, Gethin described his “shock” after an incident on Bonfire Night. Speaking on Monday, November 6 he told his co-host Michelle Ackerley: "Bonfire Night last night... fireworks hit my house, massive panic! Honestly, I was shocked, I texted all my friends."
"Hit your house?" Michelle then asked shocked, to which Gethin responded: "I know, it came into the garden. It was like I had my own little show."
