A 14-year-old girl has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article after a stabbing which left a girl in hospital with serious injuries. The alleged incident took place in a small village near Abercraf, Powys, on Thursday, November 16.
The defendant was charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. She appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 20 before district judge Stephen Harmes. She was wearing a grey sweater and cried in the dock.
The court heard that on the evening of Thursday, November 16 she allegedly went to the home of another person armed with a knife and stabbed the other person five times. She was arrested at 2.30am the following morning when she was allegedly found with a different knife on her person.
She did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody. An order was made to protect the identities of the defendant and the victim.
