Music fans are already getting excited over Glastonbury Festival 2024. The lineup has not yet been announced however Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Madonna are among the favourites to headline.
The five-day festival is annually held in June on Worthy Farm in Somerset. Founded by Michael Eavis, Glastonbury Festival is now organised by his daughter Emily Eavis.
The ticket release was delayed by two weeks earlier this year due to issues that people had with registration. In a statement released on X, Emily Eavis announced that the postponement was "out of fairness" to allow everyone a chance to register and get the opportunity to purchase tickets.
The official Glastonbury Festival account wrote: "This year's Glastonbury ticket sale has been moved back by two weeks. This is to ensure that everyone who would like to buy a ticket is registered and therefore eligible to purchase one.
"The new dates for Glastonbury ticket sale are as follows: TICKETS PLUS COACH TRAVEL ON SALE AT 6PM GMT, THURSDAY, 16TH NOVEMBER, GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS ON SALE AT 9AM GMT, SUNDAY, 19TH NOVEMBER."
The statement continued: "Following this year's Festival, we alerted everyone with a registration which pre-dated 2020 of a scheduled review of the details held by See Tickets in the Glastonbury Festival registration database. This was in order to ensure that the details we hold are current and that we do not store individuals' information for any longer than is necessary.
"These registrants were asked to take action to confirm their registration if they wished to keep it. As always, registration was then closed on Monday (30th October) ahead of the ticket sale.
"Unfortunately, it has come to light that some individuals hoping to buy tickets for 2024 have discovered after Monday's registration deadline that they are no longer registered, despite believing they were". The statement went on to explain the new deadlines and issue an apology.
Can I still get tickets?
Yes. The coach sale tickets are now sold out however the general admission sale will take place on Sunday 19 November at 9am. Anyone who has registered will be able to buy a ticket to Glastonbury Festival for up to six people.
You will need the registration number and post code of everyone you're purchasing a ticket for, as well as details for a valid debit or credit card to make the payment. The tickets cost £355 as well as a £5 booking fee and a £75 deposit.
Who is performing?
The headliners have not yet been announced however a number of acts have been tipped by bookies. Artists including Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Harry Styles and Coldplay have been rumoured.
Last year, the festival was criticised for its all-male lineup after Arctic Monkeys, Elton John and Guns N Roses were confirmed to take to the Pyramid Stage. This year, Glastonbury is expected to announce a more female lead lineup.
