Gwynedd

Gwynedd in north-west Wales is the second largest Welsh county, and includes the towns of Bangor, Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Pwllheli, and former “slate capital of the world” Blaenau Ffestiniog. A large part of the Snowdonia National Park lies within Gwynedd, including the Llyn Peninsula – an area of outstanding natural beauty known for its coves and beaches. Portmeirion, the Mediterranean-style village designed by Sir Clough-Williams Ellis, is also a big draw for visitors to the area.
