James Bond fans have reacted to rumours Harry Styles could play to the iconic role after Daniel Craig handed in his licence to kill following No Time To Die. Not only could Styles play Bond, but some have suggested he may even sing on the movie's next soundtrack.
Renowned Bond composer David Arnold has hinted at an exciting future for the 007 franchise. Arnold, who has composed music for five Bond films, has suggested that "nothing is off the table" as the film makers looks to develop the first movie without Craig since 2002 - when Piers Brosnan was still Bond.
"Could someone who sings it be in the movie? I don't see why not," David said, who has most recently worked with Bond chief Barbara Broccoli on Amazon's 007 reality series. Styles, alongside the likes of Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Rege-Jean Page have all been linked to the role in recent months, but David's recent comments has sent Styles fans into ecstasy.
The former One Direction member is no stranger to the big screen having appeared in Dunkirk, Don't Worry Darling and My Policeman, but Bond would be his biggest role yet. Rumours of the singer possibility taking over from Craig was met with both joy and disbelief from fans online.
In response to Good Morning Britain tweeting a mock-up of Styles in a promotional image for James Bond, fans had their say in the comment section. Daniel James replied: "Ha ha definitely a joke surely" while TikekSofor commented: "Hell naw hopefully not, fan of harry but not the bond franchise."
SherryMustang72, who has a photo of Styles as their profile picture, said: "I would love that so much. I’ve always been a Bond fan and Harry as Bond would be so awesome." But GGStyles didn't agree, saying: "He's not enough acting experience yet to do bond. Definitely in 10 years but for now he can definitely do the theme song"
MerlotLover77 added: "Can't see it but I thought Robert pattinson would be rubbish for Batman but I really liked him, so maybe" Styles has received mixed reviews for his acting across multiple film roles as he looks to cement his place as a Hollywood actor.
