Danielle Harold, who is best known for playing Lola Pearce-Brown in EastEnders, has entered the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle alongside other celebrities including YouTuber Nella Rose and reality TV star Sam Thompson. The star struggled a lot in school and only left with one GCSE after a chronic illness.

Previously Danielle revealed that she gave up on her future when she was diagnosed with a painful chronic bladder infection aged 15. She said: "When I was in year 10 I fell ill and I was in and out of hospital. At that point, I just gave up. I didn’t try with my GCSEs and I only got one. After that, I worked as a waitress but I didn’t really enjoy it. I lost all my confidence and I didn’t believe in myself.” as the Liverpool Echo reports.

It was appearing in famous TV chef Jamie Oliver's show, Jamie's Dream School, which turned her life around. The programme gave students with less than five GCSEs a second chance. You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.

Danielle said: "Jamie Oliver was a complete life changer for me. I was so lucky to have got on that programme. It was so much fun and a completely new experience. It made me believe in myself and made me realise I could achieve whatever I wanted in life. You just need a little bit of encouragement sometimes and someone that believes in you."

In 2023 Danielle won the Serial Drama Performance at the National Television Awards for her performance of Lola in EastEnders, which she played for 15 years. She portrayed Lola in a very moving storyline that saw the character pass away from a brain tumour in incredibly emotional scenes.
