Beloved husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law and long-time co-owner of Fung Ming Takeaway, Clive Street, Grangetown, Cardiff, passed away peacefully in the early hours of 23rd October 2023, aged 88. The funeral on the island was a private family affair, but there will be a service of celebration of her long life at the Thornhill Crematorium, Cardiff, at 2pm. on November 24th 2023, and afterwards at Whitchurch Golf Club. We share with heavy hearts the news of Robert M. Smith's passing on October 26th, 2023, after a courageous battle with mental health. A dedicated husband to Mahassine, cherished father of Neil and Mia, and a gentle soul to his treasured cat Nina, Robert's departure leaves a void in the fabric of our family. An esteemed graduate of Imperial College and Queen Mary College, Robert's brilliant mind led him to a fulfilling career as a computer engineer. His life journey took him from the UK to Morocco, where he was not only a respected professional but also a beloved member of the community. A solemn gathering to honor Robert's memory will take place at Thornhill Crematorium, Cardiff, on Saturday, November 11th, 2023, at 12:00 pm. The service will be followed by a wake at the Manor Park Hotel, where friends, family, and acquaintances are welcome to join in commemorating a life that, despite its struggles, was lived with passion, kindness, and a profound respect for the world around him.
