Christmas can be manic. The rushing around with last-minute shopping and visiting all of the family, the panic present buying, it can be a lot. And sometimes you might just want to relax.
While a bath might not be the first thing you think of when you think of Christmas, the hidden Lush spa in Cardiff is offering the perfect tonic for those busy Christmas days. They are running their Book A Bath: Snow Fairy which allows customers to enjoy a bathing experience with the adored Lush Snow Fairy scent.
In the experience you get a 30-minute bath, a fresh face mask, eye pads, soap, bath bomb, and moisturiser to use and the experience costs £40. We went along to try out the Book A Bath: Snow Fairy at the Cardiff store and here is what we thought.

It might come as a surprise to you that the Cardiff Lush on Queen Street has a spa. At first look you might think there is only the shop floor but at the back is an elevator, that takes you to a whole different world.
On the upper floors of the store is the spa, an oasis and calm and tranquility. Here, you are away from the hustle and bustle of the high street and it is a very calming and zen environment.
To begin with, you chat about the products you will be using which includes the Snow Fairy Bath Bomb. This bath bomb is large, pink, and glittery. The popping bubble-gum smell is sweet and fun but not overpowering. The scent really captures the imagination of a Snow Fairy and it smells like an explosion of a Christmas sweet shop.
You also use the mini Snow Bear soap, which is adorably shaped like a little teddy bear, and this also smells delightful. Much less sweet than Snow Fairy, the Snow Bear has a marzipan scent, feeling silky and smooth and like it will melt in your hands.
This gentle vanilla absolute and almond-scented bear cub is full of moisturising oat milk for a soft and creamy cleanse. You also use the Rose Eye Pads, which you unwrap in the bath, and your face mask and moisturiser is picked out and catered especially for you.
I went for the Rosy Cheeks face mask which smelt just like fresh roses and was a scent I thought complimented the sweetness of the Snow Fairy really well. Now, onto the bath itself.
You are led into a room that can only be described with one word. Pink. The lighting is pink, the decor is pink and when you pop the bath bomb in the bath, the bath is pink. You can keep up to date with the latest What's On news by signing up to the newsletter here.
There are floor-to-ceiling fuschia tones and you really feel like you have stepped into the Snow Fairy's home. The pink is also not overpowering, instead, it feels gentle and relaxing, inviting you in.
The bath itself is deep and warm, the perfect temperature which is something I always struggle to manage when running my own bath. Popping in the Snow Fairy Bath Bomb was great fun to see it fizzle and melt away.
The mini Snow Bear soap glided seamlessly over my skin, leaving me feeling fresh and hydrated and the Rosy Cheeks face mask felt like it had gone to work. My face felt clean, ridden of any dirt and fully cleansed deep into the pores.
It was so relaxing to lie back in the pink waters and pop on the eye pads which worked well and did not slide off my face like previous eye pads I have tried, and I totally forgot that Queen Street was just below me. The experience was finished off with a gorgeous vegan hot chocolate after I dried myself in the huge fluffy towel and got to spray on the Snow Fairy body spray, which I have been complimented on several times for how sweet and fresh I smell.
Overall I would really recommend the Lush spa as the perfect way to relax and enjoy a Christmas experience just for you. Christmas can be manic and this bathing experience allows you to lie back, relax, and enjoy Christmas in a totally different way. It would also make a thoughtful gift for any bath or Lush lover and you can book the Book A Bath: Snow Fairy here.
