Cardiff City threw away a lead late on after conceding two goals in as many minutes to hand Norwich City a 3-2 win.

The Bluebirds fell behind early on thanks to Christian Fassnacht's opener from a corner, but Cardiff hit back with two of their own in quick succession, with Josh Bowler and Callum Robinson netting before the end of the first half.

But the Canaries piled on the pressure late on and Cardiff's defence could not withstand it. Ryan Wintle turned one Norwich cross into his own net before, literally seconds later, Adam Idah was on hand to tap home a rebound from close range after the visitors' next attack.

That will really feel like three points lost - let alone one point - for Cardiff. So many similarities to that Ipswich Town defeat earlier in the season. A real blow as they head into the international break.

The Bluebirds started the brighter of the two sides, with Norwich struggling to really impart their style of play on to the match. However, despite the hosts having a number of chances early on, it was the Canaries who took the lead against the run of play.

Jak Alnwick made a good save to deny Gabriel Sara, but the Norwich man made the most of a rehearsed corner routine where he fired a low cross to Kenny McLean at the near post. McLean nodded a flick-on over the Bluebirds' defence and Fassnacht was on hand to tap home from close range.

It reignited the spark in Cardiff, though, and they then took the game to the visitors. It didn't take long before they found themselves on the score sheet and, on the balance of play, deservedly so.

Robinson took an awkward throw-in on his chest, beat his man and then drilled in a low cross to the far post. Bowler still had much to do, however he slotted expertly under George Long to claim his first home goal in a Bluebirds shirt.

Norwich were shellshocked and the Bluebirds made the most of it, scoring their second within four minutes of the first just before the half-time whistle. Again, for Cardiff, it came down the Norwich right, with Karlan Grant feeding the overlapping Jamilu Collins, who clipped in a lovely cross which was hung up at the far post. Robinson leapt the highest, under little pressure in all truth, and guided home the header well.

Norwich came out in the second half with a point to prove and Fassnacht looked certain to get his second of the afternoon when the ball rolled to him on the edge of the box with only the 'keeper to beat. But, out of nowhere, Mark McGuinness slid in out of nowhere to stop the forward netting his second.

Grant then had a golden chance to stretch the lead to two goals just before the hour when Robinson set him clean through on goal. But the winger never looked confident and the onrushing George Long smothered the chance before Grant could lift it over him.

It proved incredibly costly, in the end. Norwich piled on the pressure as they chased an equaliser and the Bluebirds simply couldn't hold on, even if the visitors' equaliser was a little fortuitous.

A corner was flicked on over to the back post and Fassnacht picked it up and turned in a low cross - but it hit Wintle's ankle and ricocheted over the line past the helpless Alnwick.

Cardiff had barely managed to restart the game before they were picking the ball out of their net again. Again it was Fassnacht who had a hand in it when he was found on the far side before he fed Rowe, who had been dangerous all afternoon, in the middle. Rowe got past Goutas before unleashing a shot, which was saved by Alnwick but parried into the path of Idah, who tapped home from just yards out.

Romeo with a big tackle on Rowe, but concedes the corner in the process.

75

Gibbs on for Nunez.

74

Lovely link-up from Tanner and Colwill there. The former feeds the latter down the wing and the Welshman fizzes a great ball across the face of goal. No Cardiff toe can get on the end of it, though.

Bowler off and Tanner on.

Robinson off, Colwill on.

Ralls off, Wintle on.

57

Game evenly poised at the moment. Being fought in the middle, although Cardiff have had a couple of positive breaks.

Massive block! Rowe with a powerful run before feeding Fassnacht, who looks certain to get a shot on target. But McGuinness with a huge lunge gets his body in the way! Looked a certain goal. Big intervention from the big centre back.

49

Robinson with a super cross-field ball to Bowler, who feeds Romeo on the overlap. Romeo's squared cross is cut out, though. Positive restart from City.

46

Back under way!

Placheta and Fisher off, Stacey and Giannoulis on for the visitors.
