Police in one part of Cardiff have been given special orders to tackle any anti-social behaviour this weekend. So-called dispersal orders are in place in three parts of Lanrumney and St Mellons across the majority of the weekend.
Granted under section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 they are in place from from 3pm on Friday, October 27, until 3am on Sunday, October 29. A statement from South Wales Police said: "Under section 35 of the act police officers can instruct anybody who is causing or is likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress to leave the areas."
They will also have the power to seize any property which officers suspect is being used to cause anti-social behaviour. A spokesman for the force said: "The order is a preventative measure following increase reports of anti-social behaviour."
