A road in Bridgend was closed in both directions after a bus caught fire. South Wales Police previously said Blackmill Road in Blackmill was closed following a "serious" crash on Sunday, November 19. The A4061 Blackmill Road in Blackmill was closed between the A4093 at Graig Terrace and the A4093 Llangeior turn-off at Pantyrawel, reported traffic monitoring service Inrix.
South Wales Police said it was at the scene and advised drivers to avoid the area. The force said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, at 12.14pm: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on the Blackmill Road, Blackmill. The road is currently closed in both directions. It is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible."
However the force later confirmed the incident was actually a bus on fire. A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "We were called by the fire service concerning the report of a bus on fire near Blackmill, Bridgend. There are no reports of injuries. The fire was extinguished and the damaged bus has been removed. There were some local road closures while the area was cleared." The force added they were called to the scene at 9.38am and the road was cleared by 12.45pm.
