Famed for its online presence, Ryanair seems to revel in regularly replying back to customers on social media - often in a cheeky manner. It's latest response has been aimed at a passenger who complained a view wasn't included in the price of their bargain 'window seat' ticket.
Ryanair flyer AmySavxx took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to hit out at the airline. "@Ryanair, so i pay €12 for a seat… but a window isn't included in the deal? wtf," she claimed, accompanied by a picture of her alleged seat which appeared to not be next to a window.
In response, Ryanair quipped: "Read that again, but slowly," eluding to the fact she had actually booked a seat not one specifically with a window for €12 (£10.46). Many people rushed to share their reaction to the Irish airline's 'clap back'.
JohannBiermann1 penned: "People tweet @ryanair just to get roasted." To which Ryanair replied: "They make it too easy." Luca6290 · added: "I swear whoever runs this account is a genius…"
Oxfrankie joked: "For such a payment [s]he should be in the luggages area." Ryanair then replied back to say: "£9.99 to be stored with the luggage." Og_philip97 stated: "€12 is insane for a plane ticket."
However, all is not what it seems. It appears as though Amy, from Dublin, did not pay €12 for the flight, but to reserve her seat which she thought would come with a window view. Responding to someone who claimed she should be happy with the price she paid, Amy explained: "I said the seat was €12 not the flight, flight was €300 idiot."
Explaining how this can happen on a Boeing 737-800, user Petra__S said: "Even if it was a window seat technically, 737-800 has this particular row where you do not get a window; just how it's built and it's the case in every airline with this aircraft type"
This isn't the first time Ryanair has gone viral for its social media responses. Back in March, X user Steve Merry posted a photo of his legs up tightly against the seat in front of him, writing: "Im only 5'7."
In response, Ryanair cheekily said: "You going to update your tinder profile then?". Many people commented their reactions, with Jim_White1957 asking: "How is this a real company?"
Cameronwt44 wrote: "Can’t moan with the prices for Ryanair flights tbf. Seat probably cost a tenner." GormanAgorman53 argued: "Same height as me and I wasn't squashed up like that." Steve later went on to confess: "I have lied to you all. I’m 6”5. Ryanair was adequate on the fly out."
Ryanair has been approached for comment.
