Bulut admits admiration for Moore

Erol Bulut admits he's an admirer of Wales star Kieffer Moore, with speculation over a possible return to the capital continuing to hum ahead of the January transfer window.

The Bluebirds were keen on sealing a loan move for the striker in the summer, but couldn't get a deal over the line, and it remains to be seen whether they will look to reignite interest when the window re-opens.

Cardiff will be able to spend money once again following the lifting of their embargo, while a lack of game time has seemingly thrown Moore's future at Bournemouth in doubt.

Speaking to Turkish outlet AA, Bulut was asked to give his thoughts on the standout players for Wales ahead of Tuesday's clash with his home country Turkey.

"Their striker, Kieffer Moore, plays for Bournemouth, he is tall. He also played in Cardiff before. He scored 20 goals in one season here and was transferred to Bournemouth.

"He is a good striker, he is tall, he can hide the ball well. Moore played against the Croatians He also harassed the defenders a lot."

Commenting on Wales as a whole, the City boss says he believes Rob Page's side have still struggled to come to terms with the shock defeat at home to Armenia in the summer - a result he believes 'broke' them.

"When you look at Wales, they have good quality, but they cannot fully reflect that quality on the field in terms of attack. They get into positions but cannot evaluate them.

"One of their most important matches is here. It was the Armenia match, they lost 4-2. If they had won that match, they would have had a good chance.

"That match destroyed them. Armenia played a good match, they scored three quick goals from the counter-attack and they kept the balance of the Wales National Team. They broke them."

Warnock still not ready to retire

Former Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has once again left the door open for a return to management.

The 74-year-old had previously announced his retirement from the game, only to make a return in February to keep Huddersfield Town in the Championship.

Warnock stepped down from this role with the Terriers back in September, and clearly believes there's still some life yet in his managerial career.

He told Sky Sports: "If there is another one (job) after Christmas, I will take it on board. I don't work until February; it is usually February when I start work!

"It would be nice to have a club sort of mid-table that I could have a go at getting in the play-offs rather than somebody bottom of the league or second from bottom and I've got to just keep them up.

"Sharon (his wife) knows if I do get one (a club) for two or three months, she will let me go for two or three months."

City still unbeaten

Cardiff City Women remain unbeat in the Adran Premier, after seeing off local rivals Cardiff Met 3-0 on Sunday.

Mackenzie Olden broke the deadlock for City before a brace from Seren Watkins helped seal a seventh win of the season.

Speaking after the match, coach Iain Darbyshire said: “I thought we were excellent today. We created lots of chances and restricted Cardiff Met to very few, so all in all it’s a great performance by the players.

“It continues our positive start to the season and it keeps up our momentum. We have no game next week, but we’ll be continuing our hard work in training to ensure that we keep our standards high.”
