Here's your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Wednesday, November 8.

Bashir - I had to push through loan move

Swansea City loanee Bashir Humphreys says conversations with Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino helped push through his move to south Wales.

The 20-year-old was on the radar of the Swans for much of the summer, and initially appeared set to join before the move was halted, amid suggestions the Blues were keen on keeping him around at Stamford Bridge following some positive performances in pre-season.

In an interview with Swansea City's official Youtube channel, Humphreys confirmed Pochettino was indeed keen on keeping him on board, but says he was keen to push ahead with the move and start playing regular first team football.

He said: “So I played the game against Wimbledon which was what I was waiting for, to then see if I was going to be out. I had a pretty long conversation with the manager. They kind of said ‘look, we’re gonna do what’s best for you here, not what’s best for us’ because they wanted me to stay there, be in and around it and play some games.

“But I said ‘look I wanna go somewhere where I can play games and get better and improve’.

"They said 'We want what's best for you, so go to Swansea because we know it's a good place and a good club. Go there and hopefully play some good football'.

"I think loan territory can be quite scary when you're thinking about what team to go to. The harsh reality is that a lot of managers sell dreams to loan players because they just want you to come. They don't know whether they're going to like you or not, but they want you to come.

"But I really trusted what Swansea were saying to me. When I spoke to Paul [Watson] and the gaffer, I really trusted what they were saying. I think it was quite an easy decision."

Duff - We need to keep showing character

Michael Duff says Swansea City will need to show their character once again when they travel to face Ipswich Town this weekend.

After earning a battling point at home to Sunderland, a game they played out with ten men for just over an hour, they now head to Portman Road on Saturday to take on an Ipswich side enjoying a flying start to life back in the Championship, and Duff says his team may have to dig deep again.

“We pulled together as a whole club to get the result on Saturday, and we want to embrace that and take that forward,” he said.

“The games certainly don’t get any easier, we have another tough one coming up this weekend. But you always know in the Championship that whoever you play, wherever you play them, you have got to perform to a high level to give yourself a chance of a result.

“You are never going to be able to just rock up and have someone give you a win.

“I know them pretty well having faced them over the last couple of seasons, they have a number of players who have been together for a long time, and they have some momentum behind them.

“We showed great character last weekend, but we have to go and show the same character and same belief, and look to be better with the ball in our own way.”

Swans duo in Wales squad

Liam Cullen and Ben Cabango have been included in Rob Page's latest Wales squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Armenia and Turkey.

Page’s side travel to Yerevan to face Armenia on November 18 and then host Turkey at the Cardiff City Stadium the following Tuesday, knowing that two wins out of two would be enough to seal qualification for a third consecutive European Championships.
