There was heavy traffic on a major road in Cardiff after a crash and flooding on Saturday. The A4232 northbound exit slip road was closed due to flooding at A48 Cowbridge Road (Culverhouse Cross), according to traffic monitoring service Inrix.
There was a crash on the Culverhouse Cross roundabout which exacerbated congestion and two lanes were partially blocked. Traffic built on the A4232 with queues stretching beyond Michaelston-super-Ely.
Bus company Adventure Travel said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that its C1 service was experiencing delays due to the collision at the roundabout but added it was not involved in the incident.
Emergency services attended the scene of the crash. South Wales Police said it had been called to a two-vehicle collision at the roundabout at around 9.30am. There were no serious injuries. The exit slip road re-opened at around 12.30pm and all congestion along the road had eased by around 1pm.

We've just got a statement from police on the crash. A spokesperson for South Wales Police said:
"There was a two-vehicle collision at the Culverhouse Cross roundabout at around 9.30am. No serious injuries."
Southbound congestion now clear but queues persist northbound
Congestion on the southbound carriageway of the A4232, heading towards Culverhouse Corss, is now clear, according to Traffic Wales. Google Maps shows there is still congestion on the northbound carriageway close to the M4.
Pictures show flooding and congestion
Pictures taken by a passenger in a vehicle travelling northbound on the A4232 towards the M4 show the flooded slip road, which has been closed off with cones. Another picture shows queues backing up all the way to the M4. The pictures were taken just before 11am.
Traffic eases
Traffic on the A4232 appears to have eased considerably, according to Google Maps. There is still residual congestion around the Culverhouse Cross roundabout, and traffic monitoring service Inrix says the A4232 northbound exit slip road is still closed due to flooding at A48 Cowbridge Road.
Ambulance service at the scene
The Welsh Ambulance Service has confirmed it is at the scene of the crash, but said it could not reveal further details yet. A spokesperson said: "We are aware of the incident and we are currently dealing with it."

Queues have almost reached up to the point where the A4232 meets the M4 at Junction 33.
