Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse are expecting a baby - and the news has been a hit with fans, especially fans of the Twilight saga. Following weeks of speculation the British actress, singer and model debuted her baby bump to a crowd at the Corona Capital Music Festival in Mexico City on Sunday (Nov 19).
The duo have reportedly been dating for around five years and back in February, during an interview with The Sunday Times, she shared that she "couldn't wait" to start a family with Pattinson. "I'm always incredibly excited when I see his name pop up [on my phone] or even a text, and I think he feels the same about me. We've always got so much to say, and I find him hilarious," she said.
In light of the baby news, masses of Twilight fans flocked to social media to celebrate the exciting news - and to make the same joke. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, user Ally_sheehan said: "Taylor Lautner, you stay away from that baby."
The joke was made in reference to a major storyline in the Twilight series. In Breaking Dawn, werewolf Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner, 'imprints' on Renesmee Cullen, who is the daughter of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). This happens immediately after Renesmee's birth.
By Jacob imprinting on Renesmee, it essentially means he has fallen in love with her and she is his 'soulmate'. Given this storyline, it's no wonder fans are jokingly telling Lautner to 'stay away'.
Another user, Jack_mclendon, tweeted: "We must keep Taylor Lautner away from this baby at all costs" R.Rao added: "Just don't let Taylor Lautner imprint that baby." Brennan Loptien wrote: "Taylor Lautner has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever once that baby is born."
Bigarms4me quipped: "DON'T IMPRINT I REPEAT DON'T IMPRINT." Miwanaziz joked: "He should definitely stay away from this baby." Zoe22happy admitted: "The scream i screamt reading this tweet."
The Twilight franchise is making a comeback, with a television series currently in early development. This TV series will be based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling book series, which includes the novels Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
The TV series is being developed by Lionsgate Television and at this stage very little is known about the project. In addition to the TV series, Stephenie Meyer revealed that she is working on two more novels in the Twilight universe.
