Rooms are now available to book at a new hotel in Langstone, Newport. Opening in June 2024, Tŷ Newport is a short drive from Newport city centre, the Celtic Manor Resort, ICC Wales and is within 25 miles of Cardiff and Bristol.

The hotel itself has 146 bedrooms for visitors to stay, as well as a restaurant & bar, activi-tŷ suite and two meeting rooms. Tŷ Newport is also perfectly situated to give you access to the ultimate year-round golfing getaway and one of Europe’s finest golfing destinations nearby at the Celtic Manor Resort.

The project was originally announced back in August 2019, when work began on the site, just a few minutes away from Celtic Manor itself. It was initially due to open in the autumn of 2020, but has been beset with delays due to the coronavirus pandemic

The Celtic Collection, who are behind the chain of hotels, were impacted by the pandemic, reporting a pre-tax loss of almost £13m in 2022 and announcing hundreds of job cuts in July 2020. At the time, Russell Phillips, vice-president, facilities and development, of the Celtic Collection said the new hotel would "bring more employment and visitors to the city of Newport and help the area address a shortfall in the accommodation needs of conferences and events being held at ICC Wales.

He then added: "An essential, mid-range hotel also helps us offer a different kind of accommodation for people attending and working on these events as well as those visiting the city and region for other purposes.”
