A YouTuber has opened up on all the things she wish she knew before turning 30-years-old. For many people, reaching the age of 30 is one of the biggest milestones you can reach in life.
During your twenties and teenage years, it is likely you're still learning about yourself, life and how the world works. And for a lot of people, getting to 30 is a sure-fire sign you've hit adulthood, with your younger years behind you.
Often it's time to reflect and consider all the things you've experienced, gained or even lost. One YouTube has done exactly that and even let viewers in on the action as she shares her thoughts on the video-sharing platform.
Having recently turned 30, YouTuber Hannah Malu lists the things she hoped to have known sooner in her life. "While I have mixed feelings about my 20s being officially over, they definitely taught me a lot," she says.
Putting all her cards on the table, the video-blogger revealed the "12 life lessons" her twenties taught her, which she says "would have been nice to know sooner".
1. Follow your intuition
The first life lesson Hannah talks about is wishing she followed her intuition sooner. When she was younger, she admits to not being sure on what she wants to do when she grew up, but was certain it was not to be in an office.
After doing her degree and when it came to her career, she initially began going down the route of internships and office work. However, she soon realised this just wasn't right for her.
"Overall I realized that my initial intuition that that kind of a job is not for me was right," she said. "If I would have listened to that intuition, I think I might have reached my dream career, whatever that might be, sooner than with 30." Although different routes work for different people, Hannah says that way of working just wasnt for her.

2. People don't care about you
Explaining her second point, Hannah says: "People don't care about you. That sounds rough baby, but also I feel like realising that lifts off a weight off our shoulders. Because, as much as we think that you know we're important because we ourselves are our whole world, literally other people care about their own whole world which is themselves.
"There's this one quote, I don't know by who, but 'you're not the main character in everybody's life. And that is true, maybe for a few people. For example, your family members, your partner, your best friends, you are the main side character - but that's as good as it gets."
3. Skincare and sunscreen
Her third put is very short and sweet. "Skin care and sunscreen... just do it," she simply tells viewers.
4. We can't control everything
While we can go about controlling as much as we possibly can in our lives, everything outside of that is out of our control. And as Hannah says: "Not worrying about the things we can't control makes life a lot better."
She added: "That's just the way it is. Whether it's the weather, people being an a** to you because they're having a bad day, your nails breaking, epidemic happens and we can't do anything about that. But what we can influence is how we react to this.
"As much as things happening can suck, worrying less or you know working ourselves up less about these things helps a lot."
5. Invest in your friendships
Hannah goes on to urge people to make time for their friends in her next point. She explains: "Invest in the friendships that you already have because the friendships we make in our 20s or earlier, are the ones that statistically are seen the best that we have in our lifetime.
"And friendships are the one external factor that influences our happiness the most, yes even more than romantic relationships."
6. Nourish your body
It's no secret the key to a healthy body is a healthy lifestyle and diet choices. Hannah reiterates this in her sixth point.
"Watch what you put into your body. It's important to enjoy and to eat the food you just love eating, even though it's not the best stuff. But overall, if you start early to care about what you put into your body, your body will put out later what you wanted to put out - if that makes any sense.
"And even if you don't notice the bad consequences of not caring about what you eat now, you will sooner or later, and believe me it's easier to take care of it sooner than later."
7. Everyone struggles
"Everyone struggles, no matter how s****y you feel or how unbearable your situation seems, most probably you're not the only one that has experienced at least something like that," She says. "And knowing that helps a lot with feeling less alone."
8. Invest your money
For her eighth point, Hannah stresses the importance of looking after your money. "The earlier you start, the more money you will have," she assured viewers.
9. Wise people are also humans
"Don't take people's opinions to seriously," she says. "Don't get me wrong, it's important to hear and to take into account other people's feedbacks and opinions, especially from the people that you care about and they care about you and have your best interest.
"But I, at least, used to take everything as a fact that older wiser people gave me, usually family members to be honest, but also professors, doctors, whatever. I thought, 'they're older, they're wiser, they probably know what they're saying'.
"And of course typically the more experiences you have, the more things you know, but everybody is still human, nobody knows it all and sometimes we ourselves just know what's best for us."
10. Do it all
For number ten, Hannah tells people to just "do it all." She explained: "Meaning try out what you want to try out as early as possible, because the older we get, the more we tend to have responsibilities or bigger risks that we have to take in order to just try out things."
11. The journey never ends
"You'll never find yourself, or stop searching for yourself, at least not until you're 30. That's all that I know." She said.
"It may feel like you never really 'arrive' anywhere, sometimes it may feel like you have arrived at some point and that's just how your life is gonna look from now on. But then things change externally, internally and poof, you're a zero again or maybe at 50 or whatever - and have to figure out a new way to build your life around your journey."
For her final point, Hannah urges people to remember that it is never too late to start over in life. "It's never too late to reinvent yourself and that is what I'm doing currently," she admitted
"And while it's very, very uncomfortable to do so, I guess the later in life you do it the more you've already experienced, the more you've learned about yourself and about how the world works as much as you can ever you know.
"But these experiences help me a lot to know what I want and think that I know how to get there, we'll see how that's gonna turn out but otherwise it will be boring."
