Mehmet Kaplan is a member of the Swedish parliament (Riksdag) for the Swedish Green Party. He is the former spokesperson for the Muslim Council of Sweden (2005-2006) and the chairperson for Young Muslims Sweden (2000-2002). He is a member of the board of the Swedish Green Party since 2003.
