Mohammed Belal El-Mogaddedi
Mohammed Belal El-Mogaddedi (Germany) is a native from Afghanistan, who was born and raised in Germany. He is a board-member of the German Muslim League, which was founded by native German Muslims in 1952, which makes it the oldest Muslim organisation in Germany. He has a background of 25 years in humanitarian work and was involved in different humanitarian and social projects in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Eritrea Kosova, Pakistan, Palestine and Yemen. He is now working as an independent advisor for humanitarian projects and is concentrating on developmental work for Afghanistan. He is the vice-president of the European Muslim Network, a think-tank which he joined in 2004. In December 2008 he was elected vice-president of the Hannover based organisation “House of Religions”, a multireligious society promoting inter-faith dialogue and cooperation, the only project of this kind in Germany. Mr. El-Mogaddedi has been involved in his capacity of a senior researcher, contributor and advisor with several book projects, all of them bestsellers, addressing the war in Afghanistan, the war in Iraq and the relationship between the West and the Muslim World.
